TURNER FAMILY HISTORY

This page is dedicated to the history of the branch of the Turner family from the area around Toft Monks, Norfolk.

At least two branches of the Turner family appear to have flourished in the area around Toft Monks and Aldeby in south-east Norfolk from at least the mid-18th century. Robert Turner (c.1754/55-1829) married Mary Lacey in Toft Monks on 1st January 1782, and they appear to have gone on to have several children in the parish, although research to support all these links is still ongoing. Their apparent son Charles (c.1793/94-1853) married Maria Manthorpe. An initial outline of the top of the tree and the related researchers is attached, although this remains a work in progress.

The other principal local line, based primarily in Aldeby, has already been extensively researched by Turner descendants who continue to live in the area.

Anyone interested in further details of this branch of the Turner family, or who is able to provide additional details relevant to this branch, is invited to contact the coordinator for this page Ian Hall.
