SMALLWOOD FAMILY HISTORY

THE SMALLWOODS FROM BRICKHILL AND BLETCHLEY, BUCKINGHAMSHIRE (TREE 381)

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

This line stretches from the 1740's in Buckinghamshire down to the present day, and includes around 75 individuals including 21 in the 1881 census. A full outline of the tree has been written up by David Smallwood.

OUTLINE OF TREE

The tree commences with a John Smallwood (b.c.1720) who married Sarah Anderson in Bletchley in 1743.
Their son George (1754 Bletchley - 1817 Great Brickhill) married Hannah Hicks in Little Brickhill in 1776.
Their son John (b.1782) married Elizabeth Marshall in 1805 and fathered William Smallwood (1805-1879), while their son Thomas (1782-1822 Great Brickhill) married Ann Guess in 1804 and was ancestral to the currently documented later family lines. Grandsons of Thomas and Ann later moved to north London and Kent, where many of the later family members lived.
