OVERVIEW OF CONSOLIDATED AYTON RESEARCH INDICES

A wide range of sources were originally searched by Bill Davison, Bernie Ayton and others from the 1980's, with Bill producing the first computerised version of the condolidated Ayton GRO indices (births 1837-1900, marriages 1837-1901) in the late 1980's. Since then, Chris Ayton of Sussex has become the principal compiler and holder of the consolidated Ayton indices (drawing heavily on Bernie's research), and an overview of his principal computer indices is provided below.
